Chestertown Tea Party 10 mile & 5 K race
The millenium version of Chestertown's famed tea party race was run under perfect conditions in late May of 2000. A team of faculty, coaches and alumni all stepped to the starting line which was right in front of the Johnson Fitness Center at WC and took off at the gun. The finish line was right at Wilmer Park, next to the Leila Hynson boathouse where WC men and women's crew teams train to beat the stuffing out of the competition. A beverage truck was situated right on the finish line, dispensing foaming cups of frosty post-race refreshment to thirsty runners. After the race, the runners went one block to the tea party to enjoy food, crafts, food, clogging demonstations, food, historic reenactments and, of course, food.

Here we see alumns and coaches mugging it up prior to the race.
